Recreational Therapy

Recreation therapy is provided for the children who participate in our Skilled Nursing program in order to introduce them to fun and therapeutic play activities, teach about the importance and benefits of play, and to provide children with the skills they need to be able to independently participate in recreation and leisure activities.

Structured play activities such as story time, pet therapy, gross/fine motor play, educational based play, arts and crafts, sensory play, free play, and many other programs are designed to meet recreation/leisure goals, help the children reach developmental milestones, and improve overall health and wellbeing.

The children in Skilled Nursing care have a great time in Recreational Therapy. They are often learning to do things like, pot plants, creat artwork, sit and listend during story time and many other things.
